Wollaston
The Wollaston section of Quincy is home to Wollaston Beach, which is the largest beach in Quincy. Wollaston Beach is 2.5 miles long and is maintained by the Metropolitan District Commission. Extensive work is being done at the beach with a grant from the State. New seawalls, benches and trees, etc.
Wollaston Beach is a great spot for jogging, roller blading, or just walking and you will see many people all along the beach on a nice day doing just that. There are also parks along the beach such as, Caddy Memorial Park, with a parking area, and a beautiful park overlooking Black's Creek and the Salt Marsh, with a playground for the children. There are also sitting benches and pic nick tables.

Wollaston Beach is a popular spot in the spring and summer months and is well known for it's clam shops. The Clam Box and Tony's Clam Shop have been a part of Wollaston Beach since way back. You can get fresh fried clams, fish, as well as, burgers and hot dogs.
For he boating enthusiasts, there are 2 yacht clubs along Wollaston beach. The Wollaston Yacht Club and The Squantum Yacht Club.
Wollaston has a T Station with red line service to Boston making it a commuter friendly area. Wollaston Center has shops and stores as well as restaurants, a U.S. Post Office, and was home to the Wollaston Theartre which closed recently.
Wollaston is where the Howard Johnson's chain began. The very first Howard Johnson's opened there and Howard Johnson himself lived in Wollaston at the time.
Wollaston is also the site of The Sailors Home Cemetery and Salt Marsh Trail. This cemetery contains the remains of servicemen who were living at the nearby Sailors Home, which is no longer there. There are over 100 graves at this site, and the site is surrounded by the Salt Marsh. Many different birds and plantings can be seen from this site.
The Furnace Brook Golf Course is also located in Wollaston as well as, several baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts.
